"Gift of the Holy Ghost"

Is the Holy Ghost really necessary?

Yes, Remember Jesus said you had to be born of water and of Spirit (John 3:5). But
what does the Bible say about it? That is what we will show you on this page. Below are
some scriptures, after reading them we think you will see a need for the Holy Ghost.
Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all
flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream
dreams, and your young men shall see visions."

Acts 2:15-21 "For these are not drunken as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of
the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass
in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and
your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your old men
shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in
those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy."

Isaiah 28:11" For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to his people."

Isaiah 28:12 "To whom he said, "This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to
rest: and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear".

ACTS 3:19-20 "Repent ye therefore and be converted, That your sins may be blotted out,
when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall
send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you."

PUT WITHIN YOU; AND I WILL TAKE AWAY THE STONY HEART OUT OF YOUR FLESH
AND I WILL GIVE YOU A HEART OF FLESH. AND I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU,
AND CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YE SHALL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS,
AND DO THEM."

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after
me is mighter than I, whose shoes I am unworthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the
Holy Ghost, and with fire:"

John 14:26 "But the comforter which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you."

Mark 16:17 " And these sings shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast
out devils; they shall speak with new tongues:"

Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord
in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with
the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them
utterance."

Acts 2:38-39 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 10:44-47 "While Peter yet spake these words, The Holy Ghost fell on them which
heard the word. And them of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many
as came with peter, Because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy
Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered
Peter, can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received
the Holy Ghost as well as we?"

Acts 11:15-17 "And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the
beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed
baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as
God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ;
what was I, that I could withstand God?"

Acts 19:2 & 6 "He said unto them, have ye received the Holy ghost since ye believed?
And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy
Ghost. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and
they spake with tongues and prophesied.

1 Corinthians 14:18 & 39 "I thank God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: Wherefore,
brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues."

Romans 8:9 & 11 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of
God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

Do you need the Holy Ghost?

Only if you want to be saved. I know there are some that will tell you all you have to do is
believe, but they are so wrong. You have to take the whole Bible at face value. One
Scripture cannot counter act another Scripture. The is but one author of the Bible, and
that is God. There may have been different writers, but there is only one author and
finisher of our faith, and that is Christ Jesus. As for only Believing, look at James 2:19
"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and
tremble." So if all you have to do is believe the devils are also saved. Still not convinced
that believing and baptism by themselves are not enough?

Look in the 8th chapter of the book of Acts, and read about simon the sorcerer. He
believed and was baptized, but was not filled with the Holy Ghost, and he was told that
his money would perish with him, and that he had no part nor lot in this matter.
Friends dont be decieved in this last hour. The coming of our Lord is at hand, and it is
not his will that any should perish. But you have to decide if you will do what it takes to
be saved. If God said all you need to do is shake the preachers hand (and he didn't).
There would be some that would say, "no all I have to do is speak to him, I don't have to
shake his hand."

When are some people going to learn that it does not matter what you think, only what
the Bible says. You don't need to buy a book to understand the plan of salvation.

When Peter said repent, he meant repent, stop living in sin. There is no hidden message
in Repent, it only means one thing. To die out to sin and not do those things anymore.

When Peter said be Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. He wasn't speaking in code.
Acts 4:12 is very plain there is no other name whereby we must be saved. As for
Matthew 28:19, Jesus is the name that is spoken of here, Father, Son, Holy Ghost are
Titles not names. On top of that it said Name singular, what is the name of the Father,
Son, Holy Ghost, Jesus. One God fulfilling all three titles/offices. So it is a must to be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

And when Peter said you would Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. That is just what he
meant, you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost when you honestly come to God. My
friend's this is the plan of salvation, DEATH/REPENTANCE, BURIAL/BAPTISM,
RESURRECTION/IN FILLING OF THE HOLY GHOST. Beyond this there is no other way
to be saved during this dispensation of time.
